Fish Media get ‘BUSI’ creating a new brand

Fish Media, the Derby-based New Media solutions provider was recently asked to pitch for an exciting new brand development that utilises Experian’s Business Information.

The brief was to create a brand and website interface for a new online company reporting service that would turn the current facilitating of online business reports on it’s head.

After a period of brainstorming and loose concept sketches, Richard Mackney, co-founder of Fish Media came up with a series of characters and concept ideas. One of which, a quirky character named BUSIBODY, was chosen by the client and after a series of developmental phases and focus group testing, Fish Media worked the BUSIBODY brand into a simple website interface complete with line based animations.

By visualising each page along the customer journey and stripping all other buttons or conflicting information, Fish Media designed a clear linear path for customers seeking simple, fast access to company information. Utilising the graphical approach of speech bubbles, the BUSIBODY character was designed to ‘speak’ to the user and hold their hand through the report finding and purchasing process. This method is also employed efficiently in email marketing to help build awareness of BUSIBODY and drive targeted traffic to the website.

The BUSIBODY website is an online solution designed specifically to provide users with simple, fast access to business information. By registering with BUSIBODY, users are granted immediate access to up-to date business reports for Limited Companies, Non-limited Businesses and Company Directors.

As brand guardians, Fish Media have also worked closely with the client to develop a series of direct marketing pieces to support the launch and on-going marketing of the new service.

The BUSIBODY website, www.BUSIBODY.com, attracts around 200 visitors a day looking for no-nonsense reports without having to sign up for credit accounts, they can simply pay for a one off report using their credit/debit card.

This is a great achievement for Fish Media, the project gave us an opportunity to show how we can really think outside the box and be very creative, even with something as potentially boring as an online credit report. The new BUSIBODY brand injects life and a personality into the website and we recently gave the character a Santa hat for the Christmas period and placed a heart on his tie for Valentines Day to help promote the fun nature of the brand”.
